Description
This exhaustively researched book recreates the final year in the lives of the seven flyers killed when their B-24 Liberator bomber crashed into Trail Peak on April 22, 1942. The accident itself is analyzed in-depth and includes photos taken at the crash site in early May 1942. The lives of the two pilots in particular are followed from their becoming aviation cadets in July 1941 through their earning Army pilot’s wings in February 1942 and subsequent assignment to the four-engine bomber school at Kirtland Army Airfield in Albuquerque.
